This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the pioneering scientist, inventor and Tuskegee professor, the late George Washington Carver.  Among many things, Carver in known for the development of techniques to revive infertile soil, the invention of peanut butter and other peanut products along with his focus on educating and bettering the lives of African Americans. Tuskegee University’s yearlong celebrations honoring Carver started in February and will run through December.  For more information go to
