Yoga Journal (www.yogajournal.com) and Naropa University (www.naropa.edu) announce the launch of “Life in Balance,” a traveling symposium with leading visionaries on how yoga and mindfulness are transforming the world. The “Life in Balance” series is a continuation of Naropa University’s Radical Compassion Symposium, and will take place at Yoga Journal LIVE! Events across the country.

On April 24th the “Life in Balance” series, “Being Present: How Mindfulness is Shaping Modern Society,” which took place at the New York Hilton in New York City brought together panelists includeing

  • Gopi Kallayil, Chief Evangelist for Brand Marketing at Google
  • George Mumford, sports psychologist and meditation teacher
  • Sharon Salzberg, celebrated meditation teacher, New York Times bestselling author and co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA
  • Jeff Walker, vice chair in the United National’s Envoy Office for Health, Finance and Malaria, philanthropist and author

The “Life in Balance” series will cover a number of diverse topics including mindful performance in business, sports and public service, treatment and therapy for our nation’s soldiers, veterans and First Responders, and resilience in our personal lives.
